experience

I would like to share an experience and would like to know if anyone else
experienced the same.
In my 20gl high (full of java moss and some Anubias plants) I have 4
Dicrossus Maculata, that after I removed all (?) the A. Mamore, they began
to spawn. The first spawn the eggs disappeared, so when she spawned again I
decided that if they hatched I would steal the wigglers. They hatched, and
I removed all the fry (so I thought!), 5 days later I saw the female, still
in her breeding form, was herding about 6 fry and at the same time a bright
yellow Mamore female came out of the java moss with about the same amount of
fry. Now, I know that they are not Mamore fry because there hasn't been a
male in there for about a month, so I would assume that she took on the role
of a surrogate mother. I had this happen before, but only when a females
already had fry. They're both doing fine.
