 If you take what you bought, bury it in a hole and keep it damp for...
I dunno... maybe a couple few hundred years, it ought to be about right.
So, if you're REALLY patient, you can use what you bought... otherwise,
I'd suggest you go buy some sphagnum peat.
 I have tossed sphagnum moss into tanks... breaks down very slowly, and
makes a good place for fry to lurk. You do need to make sure that it's
the stuff for orchids, since the stuff for crafts may be treated with
who knows what.
