Michael,

Cichlid fry taken from their parents tend to be very shy. Don't expect to see
them come out of the weeds. At about a week they should be looking for food.
Fortunately planted tanks have a lot of microorganisms they can use at first.
If it were my tank I would start hatching BBS.
