sand

Hello,

Is the sand that pools use in there filters okay for use in apisto tanks? is 
it the same sand that is for playground/sandbox?

A friend of mine says he can give me 3 50lb bags from his work. Should i buy 
the sandbox sand, or use this filter sand? It is new!
