thanks for the info. yup i heard it was some hybrid though i wasn't sure. i
used to have a spawning pair when i was younger. that time i obtained the
pair from a feeder fish tank. they grew up quite quickly and then i ended up
with a breeding pair. i had no success in raising the fry as i was caught up
with schoolwork and other stuff.

by the way, i used to have a pair of A. nijsenni but the male died a few
weeks ago. they never seemed to pair up though back at the aquarium where i
got them, they were defending a small territory. strangely, they didn't
reproduce the same behaviour in my 54 gallon planted tank.
