Hi Rik, They are a black water fish. We actually brought some back from South America. So, very soft water, low pH, no hardness, and some black water (peat/oak leaves) is good. They are very like uapesi in terms of spawning. Good luck, neat fish. We saw some at the wholesalers while we were there as well.
