eric, the yellow one with the yellow spot on the side is surely a female. Males have way longer fins,. Especially the dorsal fin is very high and is elongated. I have a piar here that breed a couple times. THe male has a wound on its side now and i hope it will go well soon. You surely will enjoy watching the male when they display to each other: they have such a high surface of fins compared to their body size! take care Yvan Alleau 450 SE Atwood Ave Corvallis, OR 97333 (541) 752-0320 College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences Oregon State University Burt 222: (541) 737-3649 "When you're far from everything, you're getting closer to the essential" -----Original Message----- From: owner-apisto@admin.listbox.com [mailto:owner-apisto@admin.listbox.com]On Behalf Of Apist-O-Rama Sent: Friday, December 20, 2002 7:42 PM To: Apisto Group Subject: Sexing A. iniridae Hello all, I received 4 A. iniridae last week. After looking at them for a while I have the sinking suspicion that all 4 are females. Does anyone know how to sex them? The one that is slightly larger I am pretty sure it is a female. It turns yellowish, and gets a black spot on it's side. Any help will be appreciated.
