Re: fish and x-rays of checked-in luggage
All I can tell you is of my own experiences. I've travelled from both London Luton and London Stanstead airports, both of which have undergone quite extensive alterations since 11 sept. and I've had no problems with any of my fish. From the UK Easyjet (London Luton and Liverpool) have a policy of no animals, but nobody has ever checked what I was carrying, Ryanair (London Stanstead) has no problem, or rather, there is no mention of any non-animal policy in their terms and conditions and I'm certainly not going to draw their attention to it.
I have taken fish both as checked luggage (in sealed polistyrene boxes) and as hand luggage (in a "cool bag") and the last time I flew with Ryanair I was more than 20 kg (about 30lb) overweight and didn't have to pay excess baggage! You can be sure that I'll be flying with Ryanair whenever possible in the future. Unfortunately I don't have much choice of destinations if I fly from Girona, but I can get to both Lille (northern France) and Frankfurt (centre west Germany?) from Perpignan.
BTW does anybody know of any good breeders/Apisto stockists near Frankfurt?
