Re: apistos and philodendron

In Justin's tanks at Ocean Aquarium in San Francisco--Justin has some kind of "waterway" above each tank with plants (I think they were philodendrons) growing in the "waterway" with their roots hanging into the tanks. This has been mentioned several times before on this forum and there is probably a better description of his setup than I am able to provide.

Hi everyone,

I while back I visited the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, which was housing a large Amazon exhibit (there were even a few apistos hiding in the smaller displays if you looked carefully).  One of the Amazon set-ups displayed philodendrons creeping into the water.  In fact, they were the only plants in the tank.  Has anyone experimented with a set-up like this at home?

Thanks,

Adam
