Tom, I've never used Hikari's brand, but I once used frozen tubifex from someone else. The fish loved them. Then one day is saw a couple of tubifex sticking out of the sand. I stopped using frozen tubifex from that day on. If the tubifex survived freezing I imagine that the bacteria in them did, too.
