Hi Folks, I concur with Big John and want to emphasize that they need to be rinsed every day until clean and then feed them to your fish! I have been using black worms since about 1968. Don't feed too much and cut them up for smaller apistos (not necessary but makes it easier for them)! Also....other worms I use.............: 1) Grindal Worms 2) White Worms Between these 3 worms and live Baby Brine and live Daphnia there is no need for flakes and stuff! The only one of those worms that need SPECIAL attention and equipment is the white worm......they need a refrigerator with a temperature of 55+ degrees......the regular setting of a refrig. is too cold......about 38 degrees I think. You won't freeze the white worms, they just won't flourish! You guys have a great one! Oh my God.... dont say Black worms...... you'll be banished for sure....lol I used to use them alot.... only reason i stopped was the availability.. Anyone telling you they are bad to feed is full of B@#$hit..... Unhealthy black worms are bad to use a food. If you take care of your black worms, rinse them very well each day.... store them in the fridge and dont feed the leechs.... you NEVER will have a problem with them.... I have spawned well over 40+ species of apistos and Never had a problem with any of them while feeding blackworms..... I actually wish i could i get good worms in my area again.....I would love to use them again as a conditioning food..... Well i guess i'll get off my soap box.... But for some reason i was just waiting to see someone pipe in and tell you have bad using blackworms are to use......
