Hi david,
Thx for the input. I did try that though for 4 days but it did not get rid
of all of it and sure enough it grew back. I might have to cumulate
different technics.
As far as the website is concern, I still have to update infos about lfs.
Also, the site will probably momentarily be unaccessible.
Thx again

Hi yvan,
I can answer the second question for you.
Good thing is that blue-green algae is the easiest to
get rid of. You can use antibiotics if you'd like but
there is an even better method--- BLACKOUT!!! I would
blackout your tank for 4-5 days. Make sure no light is
getting into the tank. Cover it with towels or
blankets and keep the lights off the entire time. Also
feed the fish minimally. Maybe feed them on the third
day if needed. Your plants will be ok. This is a sure
fire way of getting rid of blue-green algae. I
recommend it to all of my customers with great
success.
good luck,
David
p.s. Did you ever get the site up concerning lfs
apisto stores?

Hi All,
A friend of mine was offered a 55gal tank and asked
me about a good
beginner's book. I've been keeping fish for the last
20 years but only 6 in
the US so I do not know of a good book to advise to
him. Any suggestions?
My 2nd question concerns cyanobacteria. I have some
growing in two 75 gal
tanks. I let my tanks unattended while I was gone
for 10 days and that is
how they appeared. I am not for using products but
despite weekly removal
and bi-weekly water changes they are still in. I am
careful about feeding,
plant detritus monitoring... and therefore there is
low OM in the tank.
Erythromycin is supposed to do the job. Would
someone know where I could get
some (that is more than 10 tablets like what you
find in stores) at a
reasonable price? Also, are there other products
that can be used
(kanamycin, other.?).
Thanks all,
Have a great week
