raising fry

Hi all. I have a couple of general questions on raising fry. Currently
I have 4 species laying eggs on a regular basis. Three of these pairs
are in community tanks and one (N. anomala) are in a 20g on their own,
well the female is I had to remove the male who was being beaten
(women?). So not having much experience with raising fry I am looking
for some tips from you pro's out there. Is it better to leave the fry
with the parents in the community tanks or move them to a separate
container after they are free swimming? If so how long before they
should be removed?

I tried this with about 100 L. dorsiger fry by moving them to a 15L tub
about 1/3 full with some java moss and an airline maintaining a slow
stream of air. Unfortunatley I have lost most of them after about a week
and wonder if there is a better way to do it?

So if you can give me any tips I'd appreciate it, either posted to this
list or to me privately.

TIA
