Bad mom! Child abuse!

Well after i responded about keep my mom with her fry, I went to feed her
and her fry. Ironically she has faded from the bright yellow, to a black.
Then I noticed her chasing a few fry. So I am now thinking that she 
is seeing her fry not as her kids, but just other fish treeading on her
turf. Am I correct? The fry have been with here, alone, for 3 weeks.
