My Kirb is dying...I think

HI all,
I have a pair of P. Pulcher that have bred once for me and until recently I
thought they were going to breed again this week.
This morning I noticed that the male is listless and now is in a corner next
to the heater holding a vertical position. It appears that he may be hiding
from the female.
Has anyone seen this behavior?  The last time I saw it was when this male
was beating on the other male who died shortly after.
