Tom,
Next time eliminate the hassles of inspecting the fish and doing the carry-on
thing.  Buy yourself a large Coleman cooler.  Pack the fish and wrap it in
paper or stuff it into the box it comes in from the store.  Check it in as
luggage.  If all you are doing is going back to Seattle after the fish, you
only need a single overnight change.  Makes lifes easier.
