Unfortunately they are just as suseptible to chlorine poisoning as most fish that I have seen in aquariums and in the wild I would guess. So I don't think it would be possible to have them as dennisons of the local pool. ;-) But enough of this thread, we just need to be aware so when we are collecting Apistos or other dwarfs in the Amazon.
