That's what happened to me.  They spawned in a ten gallon with no
problem, but the female killed the male shortly after the eggs hatched.  So
if you forced to go with a ten, then have plans to move the male if they
spawn, even if you don't plan on breeding them in the ten.  They might
just go ahead and do anyway, regardless of what you plan <s>.
