Don,
I don't think it was too much. I'm am finding everyone's responses quite
interesting. I think it gets all of us fish keepers thinking about WHY DO WE
KEEP THE FISH WE KEEP? Until I was asked what species and how many in a
group I had spawned I really hadn't thought about it either. I spent a
couple hours trying to remember and find all my records of fish I have
spawned in the past and then asked myself why.
I too like the killies. In 92-93 I had spawned 18 different species and 5 of
these were Peat spawners. My other main love is the Corys. I started doing
some of the cichlids because I wanted to see a fish that took care of their
eggs and fry. Corys ignore the eggs they lay except to eat them afterwards.
I like all the little fish that are very beautifully colored. I also don't
have to put up with the nasty attitudes of the larger cichlids.
I'm enjoying reading everyone's response and I hope everyone else is
enjoying them as well.
