Start feeding fry as soon as free swimming.  This can be achieved by using a
small syringe and aiming in the direction of the fry.

Yes, this is very wise if they are housed in a community tank.  Your aim now
is to do everything you can to enable the mother to detect any preditors who
will snatch the fry in the darkness.  You only require a low wattage bulb.
I always did this when breeding Discus.
