I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but when I did a lot of 
breeding on Tanganyikan cichlids and apistos, I found most of my spawns 
occurred in the 5 day period before a full moon.  I think I read 
somewhere that this timing may allow the parents to watch the fry at 
night.
