People are reluctant to sign up mostly because maintaining a species under
the SMP requires the participant to dedicate tanks (yes, plural) for a
minimum of 1 year (I would've like 2), even if it is only one species.
There is a way out though. If you find someone else to take over that
species under the SMP you are free to move to another species.
The only requirements to get started is commitment, dedication, and at
least two pairs as a starting population. Pick your species and sign up.
