Checking the heater was actually my first thought. I checked it, after I took the dead fish out, (probably not the correct order) and couldn't find any problems. My second thought was, if it was a heater, or other electrical, problem wouldn't it have effected all the fish at the same time instead of over a week period? Maybe I'll put a different heater in there just to be safe.
