Re: brooding female?

I beleive what Dr. Kader proposes is a feasable alternative and one
that if you have the tank space for the other fish would work fine.
however since you asked and its what I do, I will tell you.

I like to prepare a small say 5 1/2 or 2 1/2 gallon tank and place
some tufts of java moss and water sprite for security. I then siphon
off at as much water as I can into the smaller tank as to make the
water composition as close to the origanal as i can. I then capture
mama and place the cave or siphon the wigglers and place them in with
mama. At first she may be a little disoriented but her instincts
quikly kick in and in about 15 minutes she will be gathering her
wigglers or gaurding her eggs. I have done this without incident for
many years. As Dr. Kader pointed out Kribs are very good parents and
their parental instincts are very strong so you can feel confident
about this procedure. I use it all the time in my fishroom and have
done it on sevral species with equal success. I beleive if the
environment is correct and the water composition is right why would
anything go wrong? and for me it hasn't. Good luck.
