Just an idea about your wooden stand feet problem.
Won't it be possible to isolate the feet of your stand with a plastic or
glass or tin (something waterproof) bottle with a flat bottom ?
It may prevent water from the ground to wet up the stand, but won't
prevent the water falling from the tanks to do it.
