Walt, P. taeniatus Lobe is a good sized species, your tank is more than adequate for the male to get out of the way from the female if she doesn't want him around. I would advise you to leave things as they are and 'play it by ear'. If the spawning doesn't work out this time they will do it again. I have a friend who breeds this species and her tanks are small in comparison to yours, both parents remain in the tank and rear their fry. Hope it works out for you.
