Re: Nannacara anomala

In my opinion this is one species of dwarf that the female is more than able to defend her spawn and fry from other tankmates, regardless of their size..  The worry will be when the fry become free swimming as she will ruthlessly defend the young possibly to the detriment of other tankmates.  Don't get me wrong she is fabulous, the only dwarf species I have observed that chews the food and spits it out in a cloud for the fry to eat.  You didn't mentioon what size your tank is.  It may be an advantage to perhaps set up a species tank for the pair for future spawnings.

Subject: Nannacara anomala

Checked my aquarium this AM and found that my Nannacara have spawned !
The female is jealously guarding a clutch of eggs on a plastic plant.
Unfortunately, they spawned in a community tank.  Should I move the eggs alone or
move them with the female ???

Thanks for the help.
