I use a combo of "OSI vivid color" flake, and "Tetra bits" in small amounts daily, and about 5 pellets of "HBH South American Cichlid Color" once a week. Once or twice a month I will add well rinsed bloodworms, and mosquito larvae (when I collect it). Even if I don't do the live food thing, They all eat the variety very well. I have noticed that they love to gnaw on the larger pellets (0.1") after they sink. Any more than a few and they won't eat all of it. Even the larger fry will eat these. They won't touch an off brand flake! I am going to look for the earthworm flakes next! ----Original Message Follows---- It does seem to vary but they all figure it out eventually, within a few days or so. It is interesting to see especially wild caught apistos have no idea what to do with flakes. BTW, every other day or so I crush OSI Vivid Color flakes (the one with the nice aggie on the label) into powder and mix in my standard food of frozen blood worms. This seems to work great, keep the apistos nicely colored and feed the tetras too. >In a message dated 4/18/99 7:53:26 PM EST, dwingert@MNIC.net writes: > >> 1.)
