Re: Removing fry

One technique I've heard about but have not tried is to use a small plastic pop bottle as a trap. Take a clean, clear plastic pop bottle (individual serving size) and cut off the top just at the point where the main body of the bottle starts to narrow. Then turn the cut off top around and insert it back into the bottle, cap end first (without the cap, of course). Put a little food into the trap and lower near the fry.

The strategy is that they'll swim in for the food but will have a difficult, but not impossible, time finding their way out. Simpley lift the trap out and transfer the fry. If the hole is narrow enough, it'll be too tight for adult fish.

Let us know how it works if you try it.
