Re: A.sp.mamore

Title: RE: A.sp.mamore
Folks.........take a look at     http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Jungle/4327/apistopage1.html    the first two pics are of the A. sp."Mamore....blue" everyone is talking about.......I think!!!  Heh, Heh, Heh.........nice solid fish...hardy...breeds rather easily.  I need to find some "reds".......I've had 3 spawns and about......150 fry (to almost full grown) and none have been "red".  But sometimes things don't work for me like they should........that's why I keep asking questions ;-)

you guys are scaring me

the picture on http://w5.dj.net.tw/~iris/list8.htm that is labeled A sp. mamore (7th row, 3rd column) seems to have a very pronounced lateral line, and bright blue dorsal and ventral fins. now, the male i have doesn't really have either of these things, more like a general sheen similar to the picture of A. nijsseni, and he also has a nice black spot on the first few rays of its dorsal fin, similar to that seen on the picture of A. stein(dachneri).

i understand that coloring comes and goes with mood, spawning, brooding, etc., so does that put my Mamore within normal operating parameters?

Well I've got a good sized apartment.   I use my dining room as just
fish room.  My living room has several racks of tank and a few bigger
tanks, couple of 55's etc....   NO TANKS in the bathrooms, although my
friends joke that I do.  Basically a well organized set of racks of
tanks.  Lots of tens and 20longs.   Several 5's and 10  2.5 gallon tanks
for my killies.
