Re: Collecting Apistos

Most of the collectors are back from this year's trips - some are down there
now. You might want to contact Jeff Cardwell (Indianapolis, IN):
jcardwel@netusa1.net I haven't tried him at this address for a long time.
He organizes annual trips down there. Jim Forshey (Sacramento,CA)
jim@seahorses.com used to do it regularly but he has slowed down a bit
lately. Dave Schlesser from Dallas Aquarium goes to Peru a lot. Boston and
Tennessee Aquarium do it. Stan Sung (Mission Viejo, CA) occasionally goes
to the Amazon but lately he is more interested in wild Bettas. Lee Newman
and I will probably make it down there next year. If you keep in touch with
European aquarists, a few Scandinavian hobbyists seem to be headed down
there regularly every September/October but those guys have a lot more
vacation time than some of us North Americans.
Erik Wolla (Norway) is off to Guyana this week. Frank Warzel (Germany) is
just back from Tapajos.

So, my point is a lot of people are going down there - if I hear anything,
I'll keep you posted.

Vinny
