I once moved 52 tanks of apistos and killies from Buffalo, NY to Cockeysville, MD. It was autumn, as it is now, and this played to my favor. Most of the fish spent a week in the bags with no ill effect. The water parameters in the two locations were way different, and the fish made the switch just fine. Maybe they were just so glad to get out of the bags they rewarded me by not keeling over. A year and a half later I moved across Baltimore County using the same approach, and the fish started kicking the bucket after two days in the bags. The only differences I can see looking back, is that leaving Buffalo, the fish were packed in faily acid water, which would keep ammonia at bay, and the heat was, well, typical Baltimore July.
