RE: long gone apistos

Hey I have a pair of mcmasteri - supposedly - and the male has a very
attractive blue sheen, particularly round the head. I was a bit puzzled as
the colours did not match the few mcmasteri pics I had access to while the
body shape did, so I was not sure whether to accept the fish shop's
attribution. I live in England so they might be a locally preserved type. On
the other hand, I really don't know enough to be able to say what mcmasteri
should look like.

Can you take a photograph, scan it an email to anyone who is interested in
trying to ID it?  This is a very useful way of obtaining the true identity
of fish.  Often shops or wholesalers don't know and will happily make up a
name.  Please, don't post a photo to the list as it's not allowed.
