There is a case of two different species of salamanders of the genus ambystoma
whose ranges spread until they overlapped. When the two species ranges overlapped
an interesting thing occured. The two species interbred producing fertile off-spring.
These offspring now out number the two original species in the overlapping portion
of the two original ranges and are spreading into the ranges of their ancestors.
Such is evolution, it doesnt read books on taxonomy. :) I will try to find out
what the three secies are.
