Your tetra that's called the Columbian "Red tailed tetra"  is in the
Baensch Atlas in Vol 5 page 54, also in the photo index vols 1 - 5 on
page 99.   It's Identified there as Astyanax sp. with they think
eventually to be called Hyphessobrycom Ecuadoriensis.   It does come
from Columbia South America and grows to about 7.5cm.   The book says
5cm but I've seen full grow specimens in a pet shop that were close to 3
inches not counting the caudal fin.
