Daryl,

Sometimes I leave fry with the parents until they are grown if I am
cramped for tank space, of course the parents don't spawn again as fast
and you have less total fry in that case.  I have even had apisto's raise
two spawns in the same tank (nijsseni, gibbiceps, aggies and
steindachneri).

Now some pairs of apisto's I have more problems with the parents eating
fry and I have to pull them out at three weeks.  Depends on the individual
fish.
