OK, so here's the deal: First, I don't want to be paid in advance for next year because there's a very teeny slight chance I might not be able to do the newsletter all this year (it's because of a good thing, but it probably won't happen, but I don't want to Jinx it, and I'll know by Sunday ;). Regarding splitting up the duties of creating, xeroxing, and mailing, it always does seem to get brought up every few years (last time was when Maxine was still doing the newsletters and was tired of the task). Just to let you know what you'd be getting yourself into: the problems in this case become first, how does the editor get the master copy to the xeroxer? Currently I rely heavily on PostScript printers for the graphics, and most of the board balks at this... e-mailing may not be an option. When Maxine was doing the newsletter and I was the xerox boy, it typically added an extra two days to the process while she snail-mailed the master copy to me. Then there's the issue of stamping, folding and mailing... technically the xeroxed copies are supposed to be done by the board meeting so that we can all fold, stamp and mail them that night. In the last year, this has not happened; I've never been ready by that meeting. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com
