Meeting Yesterday, and Plant Auction

The meeting was sparse (about 10 people?) but fun. Joe had some well-done
slides of his tanks (that we'll get to see in two weeks), Bob had lots of
acrylic do-dads, including a classy brine shrimp hatchery. We also talked
about lighting for a while. I brought about 3 gallons worth of
Lagarosiphon major, and Bob brought frogbit to give away.

Now onto a new issue: Dave Gomberg, Planted Aquarium blowhard and now
publisher of "Planted Aquarium" magazine, would like to donate a
subscription to his magazine and set up a vendor booth at the *plant*
auction. I grumbled a bit about this initially ("hey, we don't take
donations and crap for the plant auction. let him donate to the general
auction."), but now I think it's a good thing, actually. The plant auction
has grown from its origins of being a place to get plants in the face of
crappy store selection, to its current state of "all-inclusive plant
extravaganza", including (occasionally) decor, fertilizer, and books. So
why not...

Opinions?
