October Speaker - Bad News

Hello All,

I'm afraid that I have to report that I've failed in my quest to get Michael
Vuu from King Discus to be our October Speaker.  I went into his store this
afternoon and talked with Michael (and his wife) about coming to speak to
the club next month on the subject of Arowanas.  When he told his wife what
I had asked, she laughed!  I guess they had recently attended a wedding of
their good friend's and when Michael was asked to stand up and say
"something nice" about the bride and groom he got so nervous he almost
passed out.  He said he rally enjoys talking to people one-on-one, but
there's "no way" he could stand up in front of a group of people (such as
ours) and continue to breath.

By the way, if somebody's working on contacting the "sponsors" to see if
they are still willing to give a discount to card-carrying members --
Michael is.  He remembered and knew exactly what I was talking about when I
brought it up.

So, I guess we need some other ideas for October QUICK!
