I don't know this for sure, but I'm guessing that Clay and I are on the far ends of the spectrum (Mukilteo and Lakewood). I work near Lake Union in Seattle Monday - Thursday. I get off at 6:45pm. I could be to Clay's house by 7:15pm or to my own home in Lakewood by 8:00pm (allowing myself a little buffer-time since I'd be the host). Friday or Saturday are generally much more flexible for me - given a little advance notice, of course. Sunday is not a possibility. As Erik pointed out below, part of what made our last meeting so late was that it was supposed to start at 7:30, but didn't start until 8:30. Sooooooo, I have a question for the Board, what is the earliest time each of you could actually be at the meeting? We could start the meeting immediately and do the fish room tours after our Board Business to speed things up a bit. Kind of like saving the dessert for last, so you will eat your peas! How do you all feel about starting early and what time is the earliest you each can make it?? I like Tuesday because it's one of Kathy's work days, but on the other hand, having to drive all the way back to Tacoma at midnight sucks even worse than driving to Seattle at 11:15. So it's a toss-up, and I will accept either way. History on the board meeting time of 8 PM. It used to be 7 PM before I started as prez (and for a while during). Some of the board members always seemed to show up late (like an hour or more!), so that we never actually got started until 8. Eventually, when realizing that jobs and such simply prevented everyone from being there at 7, we just relabeled it as starting as 8, with "futzing around & looking at fish from 7-8 or so". Of course, what then happened was that things slipped and now most of the board meetings actually start at 8:30. I would LOVE to have the board meetings start on time & end earlier so that we have the option of futzing around afterwards without guilt, or going home early. - Erik ------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, e-mail majordomo@thekrib.com with "unsubscribe gsas-board" in the body of the message.
