I agree; we should definitely pay for his
hotel room and dinner at Ivar’s is a great idea. I actually get off
of work early enough to go now.

I will provide Yohan's transportation. Personally, I
think we ought to pay for the hotel room as well as the airfare.
What I thought I'd do is run the idea of a "before the meeting"
dinner at Ivar's past Yohan first, and if he's up for it then post an announcement
on the member email list. Comments?

Hi Bob,
I was planning on calling you tomorrow and I still will do that.
I will call you as soon as I get to Seattle just to let you know that I am
there. My return flight on Wednesday is at 6:50 AM which means I would
have to be at the airport by about 5:30 AM. Hence, since you said you
lived about half-an-hour from the airport, I decided that the best option would
be for me to stay at a hotel close to the airport so that I wouldn't have to
bother you early morning on Wednesday. I shopped around online and found
a good deal at the Ramada Inn located at the Seattle Airport (13900
International Blvd--206-244-8800). There is a shuttle from the airport to
this hotel so when I arrive I will just take the shuttle to the airport on
Tuesday. However, if someone could pick me up from the hotel and take me
to the meeting place on Tuesday evening and then drop me back at the hotel it
will be very helpful. Please let me know if someone could do me this
favor and what time they will be picking me up from the hotel. If not, I
will rent a car or find some other means of transportation.
Please note that I will be paying for the hotel room and I don't want GSAS to
re-imburse me for this. I only want GSAS to re-imburse me for my flight
expenses to Seattle--$176.70.
I am going to try and bring a bag of B. unimaculata juveniles as a donation for
the auction. I just hope that I wont have any problems with airport
customs.
I really am looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the members of
GSAS. I will be bringing both my work and personal cell phones with me on
my trip. Please feel free to contact me at either of these numbers:
Private Cell--708-205-0329
Nextel: 708-372-1786
Thanks.
