SPU update
We now have insurance. Annual premium $300. What I did was give the
insurance agent (State Farm) a copy of the insurance requirements section
of the SPU contract and asked him to come up with a quote for insurance
that will fulfill those requirements, which he did. We did the necessary
paperwork and I paid the premium, which makes us officially insured. Actual
policy and certificate of insurance forthcoming. (Susan, I'll need a check
for the $300 premium at the next meeting).
I sent in our Application for Forming a Nonprofit Corporation and the check
for $30 to the Secretary Of State office in Olympia. They told me it
normally takes about a week to process it.
The completed contracts containing all the deletions and alterations, along
with copies of the above two items and the deposit check, were mailed off
to Judy Bruce at SPU this morning. I talked to Judy before I mailed them.
We discussed the issue of cancelled meetings. She said that with a long term
agreement such as ours,an occasional cancellation would not be charged for.
I asked her about billing; she said we would probably be billed twice a year.
Itold her we had deleted the May 11 start due to the likelyhood that the
short span of time between now and then would generate confusion over the
actual meeting place. She was OK with that.
Now we just have to wait for SPU to either approve all the stuff I sent to
Judy or not. Shouldn't take long.
