RE: [GSAS-board] Dogs at the Picnic



I agree with Susan and Paul.  It's easy enough to tell one (or maybe even two) people that they can bring their dogs, but we have to consider what it would be like if ten people brought their dogs.  Another "reason" for saying "no" might be that dogs can be very SCARY to very young children.  At a picnic that I attended last weekend, a 2 1/2 year-old girl was terrorized by a very lovable (but highly active) Jack Russel.

I think this would best be handled by an email to members/announce by either Bob as President or Paul as Host - but it needs to be done soon so that they can make other arrangements.
