The TEXT of the message looks good. However, posting this message on
gsas-ANNOUNCE implies that we would allow NON-members to work the auction -
which I don't think we want to do. Anyone "working a computer" is likely to
get drafted to run check-out and accept money, etc. I know that there are
plenty of non-members subscribed to gsas-MEMBER too, but having posted the
request only on gsas-member gives us an easy, less-confrontational way to
politely thank non-members for volunteering and yet keep members-only
working the auction.

How's this look:
AUCTION HELP NEEDED! We need volunteers to help with the plant auction
next month (Feb. 8). The following positions need to be filled:
LAPTOPS. Equipped with wireless LAN and Windows 2000 or newer.
Auctioneers. Clay has volunteered to be an auctioneer again this year. We
need at least two more.
Computer operators to process sales, handle check-in and check-out.
At least one person to hand-record sales, for backup.
Runners to handle & keep track of sold items, assist with checkout.
People to come early and help bag plants, set up for auction, run check-in,
etc. Pizza provided.
Someone to bring PIZZA. you will be reimbursed by the club. Three large
should do it.
Please review & comment, then I'll post on gsas-member and gsas-announce.
