Hi Bob,
I'd love to come out and speak to your group! Washington is one of the
few states that I have yet to visit - and I haven't seen Erik and Kathy in
quite a while - since before their first was born.
I'm trying to avoid scheduling two speaking engagements in a month right
now, my wife understandably doesn't appreciate that too much! The first
month I have open is April of next year, so the May 9 meeting should work
just fine, if it is good for you.
My current talks (all in Power Point):
"Live Foods" - hands on talk w/Power Point
"Livebearers, Much More than just the Retail Big Four"
"Anabantoids, Fish that can Drown"
"Keeping and Breeding Wild Betta Species"
I'm also developing two talks called "Breeding Oddballs" and "Raising Fry"
- both are developing from my old Breeding Miniature Fishes talk - I think
it just grew too unwieldy for a 45 minute to one hour presentation. I'm
still developing the Barbs talk - it's kind of in limbo right now - I need
a dozen or so more species to really flesh it out into a decent talk.
I'll talk to you soon,
Mike Hellweg

Subject: Possible speaking engagement
Hello Mr. Hellweg.
My name is Bob Holmes. I'm the president of the Greater Seattle Aquarium
Society. We're in the process of lining up a series of guest speakers for
the coming year, and would like to invite you to speak at one of our
monthly meetings. We would be interested in your presentation on
anabantoids, or possibly either talk on wild livebearers or barbs if you
have those completed.
We have the following dates open:
June 8
October 11
November 8
January 10 2006
March 14
May 9
We would of course pay for your airfare and lodging, and we usually host
a "before the meeting dinner" for our guest speakers at one of our local
restaurants.
Looking forward to hearing from you regarding this invitation!
Bob
