Again, I am not on the Board, but, thought I would note
a concern. How busy is this park during the summer? If
the parking is as limited as it sounds, this sounds like a very difficult place
to hold the picnic. I may be wrong....but, I would hope we could find a
place that was not so potentially cramped for access. We have had picnics
up near Rosario, we have had them at the south end of Lake Snohomish, we have
had them at Lake Washington and other places I am
sure I have forgotten, with great success.......there are surely
places that offer good parking and places to sit,
BBQ, etc that might work better.

Good morning.
I talked to Ann Scranton at SPU
yesterday. We have the Weter Hall commons area reserved for our meeting, and
permission to set up a temporary tank for the duration of our
meeting.
We still need to determine how much ice cream & toppings
to buy, and who's going to buy it. I can do that, but I need to know how much.
Maybe we should try to get a head count of how many people plan to attend.
We'll need bowls and spoons too. And scoops.
There are apparently no
shelters or picnic tables at Phantom Lake Park, and the parking is limited.
Other than that, it sounds like a really nice place to have a picnic. We can
request that people bring card tables and chairs, or blankets, or we can try
to search out another location that has shelters and picnic tables.
Comments?

I just got back from Phantom Lake. There are twelve regular parking
spots and two handicapped spots. We might be able to squeeze in some more
cars along the road in. There are bathrooms, a big lawn area and shaded
section, but no picnic tables or barbeques. There is a fenced deck out into
the lake and a area where a canoe or raft could be lauched. I saw a lot
frogs, lily pads and flowers, birds, dragonflies. It s very nice on summer
day. I am wondering if there might be a better spot along a lake though,
with benches and barbeques.
