Bob-
I managed to decipher (on the Mac) both of the messages, I think. I'll attach
them
below- Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Mike Hellweg
Mike has been a hobbyist since he was a child, breeding Swordtails and
successfully
raising them when he was 9 years old. Mollies, Guppies, Corys and Danios soon
followed. He quickly discovered that breeding fish was fun and challenging and
that pet stores would swap him fish that he raised for other fish, tanks and
equipment. His hobby quickly grew from there to the point where he was selling
fish that he raised to shops all around town.
As the only fourth level Grand Master Breeder in his local club, the Missouri
Aquarium Society, Inc., he has convinced nearly 200 species from more than 20
families to breed and successfully raised their fry. His modest fishroom of 80
or
so tanks from 10 - 75 gallons is dedicated to working with miniature fishes
with
adult sizes under 4 in length. He particularly enjoys working with small Egg
Scatterers, Dwarf Cichlids, Wild Livebearers, Killies and Wild Anabantoids.
Mike is also a third level Grand Master Aquatic Horticulturist, having
propagated
nearly 200 species of aquatic plants, many of them by seed. He is active in
the
organized hobby - having served on the Executive Council of the Missouri
Aquarium
Society since 1989 and currently serving his 8th term as their president. He
also
sits on the Board of Directors of the American Livebearer Association and the
Aquatic Gardeners Association.
Mike presents programs on various hobby topics to local school groups and
hobbyist
organizations around the country. He has written over 100 articles for local
and
national hobbyist organizations and has been published in all three major US
aquarium hobby magazines. He has several articles that will be appearing in
Aquarium Fish Magazine over the next several months, and he has written two
books
that will be coming out in 2006. His monthly column, Adventures in Fish
Breeding,
appears on Aquarium Fish Magazine website: www.aquariumfish.com. He currently
owns and operates Exotic Aquatics, selling uncommon fish and aquatic plants
both to
local hobbyists and to hobbyists around the country.

Talks by Mike Hellweg
All in PowerPoint, projector and laptop required.
In each talk I cover my personal experiences with the subject in question.
Anabantoids, Keeping and Breeding Fish that Can Drown
This talk introduces the audience to all the groups of Asian and African
Anabantoids, divided by their spawning method. Emphasis is placed on smaller,
more
challenging species. I only briefly discuss Bettas since they require a full
talk
of their own.
Wild Betta Species
This talk introduces the audience to all groups and most of the known species of
the genus Betta, with emphasis on keeping and breeding them.
Miniature Oddballs, Keeping and Breeding Uncommon Miniature Fish
In this talk I challenge the audience to ìthink outside the boxî when it comes
to
working with challenging small fish. It covers my approach to working with and
breeding some of the less common small (4î and less) fish in the hobby, with
several examples of how it pans out ñ both successes and failures.
Wild Livebearers, More than just the Retail ìBig Fourî
This talk introduces the audience to the wonderful world of wild livebearers,
the
American Livebearer Association, and hopefully expands their thinking about this
amazing group of fish beyond the Retail ìBig Fourî ñ Swordtails, Platies,
Mollies,
and Guppies.
The Joy of Goldfish
This talk introduces the audience to Fancy Goldfish, their history, husbandry,
and
forms.
Culturing Live Foods
This talk is based on my soon to be available book and covers all of the
commonly
available live food animals and their easiest culture and harvest methods ñ or
at
least, what works best for me. I also cover other methods that other hobbyists
have found to work well for them.
