[GSAS-board] April Board Notes 04242007

4/24/07
Present: Steve Ward, Rick Rose, Susan Welenofsky, Meredith Crichton, Paul Wallace
1) General Auction Rehash
it did happen and was profitable $2000 ( and fun)
auctioneers were a hoot, many filled in at the last minute
sound system was very handy
the people that were there liked the Saturday time, we will check with the members at the next meeting to see if they couldn't make it due to the day
New auction system seemed to work better, thank you again Erik
for next time:
train additional computer volunteers
arrange "fixed price " items/multiples to be sold directly off the tables or have a new form for the runners: see Erik's email
Hold some of the big ticket items for the end
keep private deals between club members private or have them do trades at a different time
have auctioneers auction off stuff they know and like (don't make plant people sell cichlids etc), this will include educating the runners
Mellow auctioneering: this is Seattle, people get intimidated easily
overall: better than average ( so some of us come from mid-western stock)
full report: Erik's email
