Please look over these notes from the board meeting and let me know of any 
ommissions
or wrongednesses.

minutes of the Board Meeting 8/21/08

Attending: Paul Wallace, Susan Welenofsky, Christine Renegger, Steev Ward, 
Katerina
Shih.

Pizzas offered: 
   - Sausage and pepperoni.
   - Vegetarian with dried Tomatoes. Terrific!
   - Plain (with sauce on the side). Very nice.
Christine brought some curry pockets with vegetables (don't know what they were 
called
- excellent).
Pound cake was provided by Jennifer Wallace. Totally awesome, dude.
Cookies were also supplied.



Susan announced her desire to step down as Treasurer and Membership Chairperson.
Christine agreed to take over these roles. Susan and Christine will get 
together to
facilitate the changes regarding bank accounts, PayPal, database, etc.
Susan says we'll "make it work!"
Paul will conduct some of the membership functions in the interim.
Steev will make some new membership forms.
PayPal payment of dues will be promoted and encouraged, as it keeps the records 
tidy
and up to date and simplifies the transfer of funds

New board members: 
      Phil Lacefield - unable to attend due to short notice of meeting.
      Margie Cashman - not in attendance. We need to make sure that Margie is 
kept
informed of board activities and meetings, and see that she is on the board 
email list.
Next board meeting will be September 23rd, at Christine Renegger's house.

Meeting schedule for upcoming year, discussed:

September 9th  -- Steev Ward -- Fish Diseases
October -- Phil Lacefield  -- Marine tanks
November --  Perhaps Bob Seagal, or Enrique Patino -- on guppies
December -- Christmas Party -- Christine will coordinate??
January --
February -- Plant Auction
March --
April --
May -- Perhaps Steve Lundblad -- Steev W will contact him.
June -- Social, Home show results if we have one?, elections, and swap

Meeting suggestions:
     Oliver Lucanus -- Paul will followup
     Don Elan -- Aquatic insects -- Steev W will contact.
     Some pond-oriented speaker??
      UW Fish Collection (preserved specimens) Paul W will follow-up

Treasurer's statement:
Have : 3606.49   as of  7/31/08

After the meeting Paul showed us the 
Paul and Christine will be out of town for September Meeting.
Susan and Meredith will practice their public speaking skills.
