It would have been nice if you, Paul or Margie could have told me that in person at the last board meeting when I was trying to make sure you knew how the database worked, since I had not sat down with you to do that yet, and you kept telling me you knew how to do it.
I don’t know how I am to help you personally since I am not the treasurer and Margie is taking care of the membership now. That’s great that Margie wants to help, and yes, more people should know how to do different things, but it is also important to listen to the advice of old-timers. Paul and Meredith have been doing little if any with the database. Steev knows it, to what extent I am not sure and Erik knows it best of all. The former president, Bob, showed me how to do it and I’ve learned a few things along the way that I was attempting to pass along to you at the last meeting.
If you are going to copy things down, then you might as well put them straight into the database. The more times things get repeated, the greater the chance for error. Go straight to the source if it’s going to be put into the database.
So I deposited the check I received in the bank. I guess I can do that without mailing it off to someone else to deposit for more red tape, but who knows, maybe that will be changed too.

It was suggested and talked about
a few board meetings ago that membership/treasurer duties could be divided.
Margie was kind enough to volunteer. From:
welenofsky@comcast.net Well, it’s really redundant to enter info in twice. The membership person is supposed to have access to the database, so all you need is the person’s name if they have been entered into the system and I’ve already done that. It would have been nice if Paul informed me at the last meeting who is going to do membership now. I guess I was schooling the wrong person. You might as well take over the PayPal system, that way you can check and make sure address is correct on the PayPal site vs. Christine repeating all that in an email. I’m assuming that Christine doesn’t want to have anything to do with my offer to help out with membership when she is absent and would rather work with you which is fine.
I might as well drop off the board altogether.

Dear Susan, Paul asked me to take on membership chair at the board meeting before last. What I've worked out so far with Christina is to have her remain the PayPal czar but for her to send me an e-mail with the address, name, date info so I'll update the membership database and send the person the membership card. In other words, it's an experiment in off-loading one of the treasurer's 10,000 chores. I would also take on issuing reminders and that sort of thing. So, would you send me the info? Thanks. Cordially, Margie
